Rationale for using dynamic selection of the bokeh test images

When I started out creating these pages, the number of lenses tested was rather small, and using static pages to present the test images did sort of work. However, the pages keep growing, and this started to get unwieldy.

I have no way to know in advance what people are looking for:

Want to compare all lenses of one focal length? Ok, as long as the numer of lenses tested is below 10. If there are a lot more, the page would grow much too large, and the two lenses you are most interested in might be at opposite ends of the page. Too bad.
Want to compare portrait lenses from 85 - 135mm, but only at wide apertures? Ok, have to create a page for that, too.
But I like longer focal lengths for portraits. So what about a 105 - 180mm comparison? (notice the overlap?)

You get the idea. There is simply no way to fit all this (and more) into a static set of pages.

Why is a list of lenses included on the search page?

Because search engines usually don't index dynamically generated pages. So without the list, there would be no way to find these pages when searching for ‘some lens bokeh.’

Also, it provides a convenient place for links to more information about a lens.
